CFO at Aller Media
A CFO Discussion initiated by Martin Tørnes, CFO at Aller Media
The role of the CFO has been undergoing a change for a long time – a process which has been accelerated both by digital transformation and by enhanced business challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
From a custodian of the budget and protector of critical assets, the CFO must now capture KPI´s that provide insight and foresight that will direct the future course of the organization.
The print industry is gradually dying and at Aller Media there is now a strong focus on the business Transformation, streamlining of processes and on finding new revenues to growth.
Martin Tørnes was hired as CFO 5 months ago to strengthen financial processes, and to develop and strengthen Aller Media’s business.
Aller Media is still having a lot of potential within digitalization. Martin is driving the strategic focus to identify different growth scenarios such as new revenue streams and acquisitions. Aller’s Finance department has established an important role with the business but is continuously caught in manual financial processes, which takes time from being part of the business transformation.
For this CFO discussion, Martin Tørnes will present his thoughts and plans for:
- Developing new revenue streams and growth scenarios
- How he intends to drive the business transformation.
- The use of new technologies. An important prerequisite that can allow the finance department to be in the front seat of the business transformation will be to harvest from new technologies that can execute financial processes.
